Andrew Fillis
Background
After graduating with a BA in Acting from the Drama School, The Arden School of Theatre in association with The Royal Exchange and The University of Manchester, Andrew worked as an actor on stage and screen – most notably as bad guy Gary Stanlow in C4 Brookside.
Andrew also set up his own theatre company – The NRG Theatre Company and produced and appeared in five national tours as well as runs at the Edinburgh Fringe festival. The company also toured a variety of schools performances, comedy evenings and entertainment events.
Over the past 19 years, Andrew has been training actors – first at The Arden School of Theatre where he also achieved his PGCE. Then he became the Head of Postgraduate Studies and Head of Acting at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. In 2013 he led them to win the Stage 100 Drama School of The Year Award.
In 2016, Andrew joined Staffordshire University teaching on the Acting for Stage and Screen, delivering the Acting for Camera modules of the course.
