Paul Hutchings
Background
Dr Paul B. Hutchings is Associate Professor of Psychology and Academic Director (Head of School) of the Centre for Psychology and Counselling at University of Wales Trinity Saint David, leading the department in teaching, research, and community engagement.
Paul’s research focuses on attitudes towards individuals and groups across a broad spectrum of societal issues. His research and engagement work with the British Psychological Society (BPS) has contributed to government policy in areas such as migration and asylum-seekers. As former Chair of BPS Cymru Paul has also been instrumental in embedding evidence-based knowledge in government approaches to psychological issues. Paul is an active collaborator on a number of large-scale international research projects examining global societal issues, as well as being Principal Investigator on a number of local and national projects..
