Mae Dr Paul B. Hutchings yn Athro Cysylltiol Seicoleg a Chyfarwyddwr Academaidd (Pennaeth Ysgol) y Ganolfan Seicoleg a Chwnsela ym Mhrifysgol Cymru Y Drindod Dewi Sant, sy’n arwain yr adran ym maes addysgu, ymchwil ac ymgysylltu â’r gymuned.
Mae ymchwil Paul yn canolbwyntio ar agweddau tuag at unigolion a grwpiau ar draws sbectrwm eang o faterion cymdeithasol. Mae ei waith ymchwil ac ymgysylltu â Chymdeithas Seicolegol Prydain (BPS) wedi cyfrannu at bolisi’r llywodraeth mewn meysydd fel mudo a cheiswyr lloches. Fel cyn-Gadeirydd BPS Cymru, mae Paul wedi bod yn allweddol wrth ymgorffori gwybodaeth sy’n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth yn ymagweddau’r llywodraeth at faterion seicolegol. Mae Paul yn gydweithredwr gweithgar ar nifer o brosiectau ymchwil rhyngwladol ar raddfa fawr sy’n archwilio materion cymdeithasol byd-eang, yn ogystal â bod yn Brif Ymchwilydd ar nifer o brosiectau lleol a chenedlaethol.
