Building a new future in Wales: Lily and Ruslan’s journey from Ukraine to entrepreneurship
When Lily and Ruslan arrived in the UK from Ukraine three years ago, they faced the challenge of rebuilding their lives in an unfamiliar country. Like many people starting over, they recognised that education would be essential for creating long-term stability and new opportunities.
Now based in Wales, the couple are studying the CertHE Business Skills course at University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD). Alongside their studies, they run a growing creative business specialising in handmade tufted rugs. When 21-year-old Kayleigh Thieme graduates this week from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s Carmarthen Campus, she will do so with not only a BA in Business Management but also as the proud recipient of the prestigious Business and Management Prize
University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) is proud to have welcomed back BA Business Management graduate Beth Thomas as part of the Careers Service’s Employer Talk series this May. A graduate of our Swansea campus, Beth has gone on to build a successful career in digital marketing and social media, working with major brands including Deliveroo, Birchbox and TikTok.
As a senior HR professional, I chose to study CIPD Strategic People Management., MA at UWTSD to expand my strategic thinking and underpin my existing knowledge with current theory.
