If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.

If you are not from the UK and you do not already have residency here, you may need to apply for a visa.

For courses of more than six months’ duration you will require a Student visa.

International students who require a Student visa should apply for our full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship.

Please note students receiving US Federal Aid are only able to apply for in-person, on-campus programmes which will have no elements of online study.

The Hospitality and Hotel Management programme is assessed through a variety of practical and coursework-based methods designed to develop both professional and academic skills. Assessment components include case studies, practical placements, management reports, presentations, essays, business plans, feasibility studies, guest service evaluations, and reflective reports. These assessments aim to foster critical thinking, leadership, guest service, and management skills essential for success in the hospitality industry. The programme is entirely examination-free, focusing on real-world, industry-relevant tasks that mirror the challenges faced by hospitality professionals.

UWTSD prides itself on being a bilingual University and although there aren’t currently any modules available through the medium of Welsh on this course, in all cases students can submit written assessments through the medium of Welsh.

The Hospitality and Hotel Management programme offers flexibility, a focus on industry opportunities, internships, and graduate placement support, enabling students to tailor their studies to match their career aspirations and personal circumstances.

Constant interaction with employers, alongside a focus on guest service and professional employability skills, allows students to maximise their career potential throughout their studies.

Graduates of this programme have secured a wide range of operational and management roles within the international hospitality and hotel industry. Future career pathways can include front-of-house roles such as guest relations, reception, concierge, front office operations, event and conference coordination, or food and beverage service. Back-of-house positions include hotel operations, housekeeping supervision, revenue coordination, HR, sales and marketing and facilities maintenance. Entrepreneurial graduates have also pursued careers as business owners, running their own hotels, restaurants, cafés, or hospitality consultancies. Alternative entry routes 

If this course interests you, but you don’t have the entry requirements to join our bachelor’s degree you could consider:

• Certificate in Higher Education (CertHE). This is a one-year course and is equivalent to the first year of the three year, full-time bachelor’s degree.

 Once you have successfully completed your CertHE studies, you will be eligible to progress for the remaining two years of the bachelor’s degree.

These are ideal routes if you are returning to study after a gap, or if you have not previously studied this subject, or if you did not achieve the grades you need for a place on this degree.

• Travel to placement — every attempt will be made to place students within commutable distance of their domicile. Students are responsible for their own cost to travel to placement.

The programme is assessed in a variety of ways and will include several of the following types of assessment: essays of 1,000 to 4,000 words in length, document analyses, book reviews, short reports and reflective journals, timed tests, take-home exams, field journals, posters, group and individual presentations, dissertations of 10,000 words, wikis, commentaries and film evaluations.

The Faculty has estimated on the assumption that students buy new copies of the books. Students may also choose to spend money on printing drafts of work.

Students may spend up to £300 per year on books and additional related materials.

Students are expected to submit two hard copies of their final project, the estimated cost for binding these is £20.

Optional Field trip:
Faculty works to ensure that there are a range of fieldwork and field trip options available both locally and internationally. Thus students can opt to take either more expensive or less expensive placements. The Faculty subsidises these but the cost each year is dependent on airfare, location, and currency exchange rates. Os nad ydych o’r DU ac nid oes gennych breswyliad yma yn barod, efallai bydd angen i chi wneud cais am fisa.   

Ar gyfer cyrsiau sy’n fwy na chwe mis, bydd angen fisa myfyrwyr arnoch chi.   

Dylai myfyrwyr rhyngwladol sydd angen fisa Myfyriwr wneud cais am ein cyrsiau llawn amser gan eu bod yn gymwys ar gyfer nawdd fisa Myfyriwr.    

I gael yr holl wybodaeth, darllenwch y dudalen gwneud cais am fisa a chanllawiau.     

Sylwch mai dim ond ar gyfer rhaglenni wyneb yn wyneb, ar gampws, heb elfennau astudio ar-lein y gall myfyrwyr sy’n derbyn Cymorth Ffederal yr Unol Daleithiau wneud cais.  

Mae rhai modylau ar y cwrs hwn ar gael i’w hastudio trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg yn llawn neu’n rhannol. Ym mhob achos bydd myfyrwyr yn gallu cyflwyno asesiadau ysgrifenedig trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg.   

Os byddwch chi’n dewis astudio eich cwrs yn llawn neu’n rhannol drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg, efallai y byddwch yn gymwys i wneud cais am ysgoloriaethau a bwrsariaethau i’ch cefnogi gyda’ch astudiaethau.  

Rydym yn adolygu ein darpariaeth cyfrwng Cymraeg yn gyson a bydd union  argaeledd modylau yn amodol ar argaeledd a diddordebau ymchwil staff, pynciau astudio newydd, amserlennu a’r galw gan fyfyrwyr. Os yw eich cwrs yn cynnig modylau trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg gall y math o fodwl amrywio o flwyddyn i flwyddyn ac fe fydd yn amodol ar gyrraedd isafswm nifer myfyrwyr. Golyga hyn na ellir gwarantu argaeledd modylau cyfrwng Cymraeg penodol.   

Cyfleoedd Cymraeg Allgyrsiol  

Yn ogystal, mae nifer o ffyrdd i ymgysylltu â’r diwylliant a bywyd Cymreig yn PCYDDS, gan gynnwys ymuno â chlybiau a chymdeithasau ar gyfer siaradwyr Cymraeg ac ymuno â Changen fywiog y Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.   

Cyfleoedd i Ddysgu Cymraeg  

Rydym hefyd yn darparu amrywiaeth o gyfleoedd i ddysgu ac i ddatblygu eich sgiliau Cymraeg 

Byddwch yn cael eich asesu mewn nifer o wahanol ffyrdd, gan gynnwys aseiniadau sy’n ymwneud ag astudiaethau achos o’r diwydiant, rhai arholiadau ffurfiol, paratoi cyflwyniadau i baneli, a thraethawd hir a allai ganolbwyntio ar faes cyflogaeth y myfyriwr neu faes y maen nhw’n awyddus i ymuno â’r maes hwnnw.

Bydd mynediad i’ch dyfais ddigidol eich hun/y pecyn TG priodol yn hanfodol yn ystod eich amser yn astudio gyda PCYDDS. Bydd mynediad at wifi yn eich llety hefyd yn hanfodol i’ch galluogi i ymgysylltu’n llawn â’ch rhaglen. Gweler ein tudalennau gwe pwrpasol i gael arweiniad pellach ar ddyfeisiau addas i’w prynu, ac i gael canllaw llawn ar sefydlu’ch dyfais.

Efallai y byddwch chi’n wynebu costau ychwanegol tra byddwch chi yn y brifysgol, gan gynnwys (ond heb fod yn gyfyngedig i):

• Teithio i’r campws ac oddi yno
• Costau argraffu, llungopïo, rhwymo, deunydd ysgrifennu ac offer (e.e. ffyn USB)
• Prynu llyfrau neu werslyfrau
• Gwisgoedd ar gyfer seremonïau graddio

Efallai eich bod yn gymwys i gael arian i helpu i gefnogi eich astudiaethau.  I ddysgu am ysgoloriaethau, bwrsarïau a chyfleoedd ariannu eraill sydd ar gael, ewch i’n hadran Bwrsarïau ac Ysgoloriaethau.

Mae’r rhan fwyaf o ymgeiswyr mewn cyflogaeth lawn-amser, ac mae sawl un o’n myfyrwyr a’n cyn-fyfyrwyr wedi llwyddo i wella eu gyrfa o ganlyniad i’w hastudiaethau ffurfiol â’r Brifysgol.  Mae gennym ymgeiswyr sy’n gweithio i Gwmnïau Cyfyngedig Cyhoeddus rhyngwladol, cyrff ac asiantaethau a ariannir gan y llywodraeth ganolog, tai cymdeithasol, maes addysg a gofal iechyd.
